Janice's Story
Life
Simply put, I am a woman, wife, stepmother of two young ladies, Interior Design student and entrepreneur. I have been married to my eternal BFF, Kevin, since May 13, 2000. We were introduced January 1999 through a mutual friend online. Two days after our wedding, I moved near Oklahoma City where he already lived. We have since moved back to WA State (November 2005) and are now living in Bellevue/Overlake area.
College
After high school, I attended Pierce College in Lakewood. My concentration was Business Administration. I only went to please my father, so my heart wasn't in it. After a little under two years, I left to start working full time. While working for KeyBank, I went back to Pierce to finish what I started, but left after two quarters since my management position took priority over school. In hindsight, I am glad I made the decisions I did regarding college. I regreted failing to finish college, and it has haunted me for years. Now I see it all happened for a reason. I am in college again, but for something I love verses something I felt I had to do. I am currently attending AiP-OD (Art Institute Pittsburgh-Online Division), and I am in heaven. I am an honor student (who...Expand for more
would have guessed?!?!!), and I am elated to have art and creativity surround my life.
Workplace
After leaving college, I worked temporary for Kelly and Manpower Services until I found a permanent position with KeyBank. I started there in 1993 and left in 2000. I worked in three departments there, but the major portion of my stay there was in their call center. I left one month before marrying Kevin and then moved out of state.
After KeyBank, I worked for Farmers Insurance Group in Oklahoma City from 2000 - 2005. I worked in their claims call center. It was intense and challenging. Again, I was a CSR, but this time I was a licensed adjuster, so I had duties beyond the usual customer service role. I left due to moving back home with husband in tow.
Most recently, I worked for Healthcare Management Administrators in Bellevue. I was a CSR once again assisting various clients, providers, and brokers with benefit quotes and resolving claim issues. I earned my stripes with the company, and began working from home in late 2006. March 2010 is when HMA and I parted ways. Thankfully.
New Beginning
Now, I'm concentrating on being a wife, a student, and running my own interior design business! :-)
