Janice's Story
Life
Flopped around tending bar in Charleston throughout the mid/late 70's, and did way too much partying. I left town and spent 20 years in the Navy, spending most of my time in southern California. Did my share of Med and West Pac Cruises, and retired in 2001. The west coast was great, but couldn't take the crowds or the San Diego traffic, and I wanted to finish raising the kids in a small place. Moved to Chattanooga and worked for several years in child welfare as a foster care case manager and child abuse investigator. Married for 18 years and have a great husband who is an absolute doll, plus drop dead gorgeous, and two spoiled rotten ...Expand for more
kids. Still a workaholic. Now I spend all my free time at the craft fairs and New Age festivals selling my all natural handcrafted soaps.
School
Would definitely not do Moultrie High again. Dropped out, moved on, no regrets.
College
Mostly working 2 jobs and going to night school.
Workplace
I went from night clubs to the Navy to social work to my own cottage industry, Soaps by Jan. I work from home now and things couldn't be any better.
Military
U.S. Navy from 1981 - 2001
Travelled and lived all over the world and loved nearly every minute of it! Came out as E-8 with 20 years. Sometimes I really miss the travel and being at sea.
