Janie's Story
We live in the Central Valley and I work for a county health department as a public health nurse. I work in the communicable disease program primarily in tuberculosis control and childhood immunizations. I would love to do international nursing in Sub-Saharan Africa. I would love to work with their drug resistant TB patients.

my Dad's house in Las Lomas so we can move back if we ever want to do that.
My first real job at age 19 was driving trucks. That should surprise no one who knows me. I encourage everyone to see the movie "North Country" to see what it was like for women in Minnesota working in the iron mines in the early 80's. I didn't suffer like that but I still see very few women driving trucks here in the Central Valley. I spent some time driving school bus and I stayed at home with my kids for about 15 years before I became a nurse.
