Janis Duin:  

Received Bachelors and Masters at UNC-Greensboro in Speech Pathology. Worked at that for a while, got married (15 years/military) had two kids, moved around a bit including living in Germany for a couple of years. Came back to Maryland in 1990, got divorced and career migrated into Health Care Management. Currently the Manager of an Imaging Center: MRI, CT, X-Ray etc. Enjoy it very much and now I have time for LIFE! Loved our 10th, 20th, and 30th reunion (worked on the committee for 30th). Been busy with kids but now both are out on their own. Daughter Lisa is married and finished her Masters at GW. Son Scott graduated from Virginia Tech and moved to Austin, Texas and is getting married in August. Update: January 2011 Worked on the Reunion Committee for the Sept 2010 Reunion of Classes 1969, 1970, and 1971 at Sandy Point. Reconnected with lots of old friends at the Reunion...but one very special one in particular. Rob Duin and I became good friends back in the 8th grade when we were being bussed over to Northeast. We never dated but were always good friends all the way through highschool. We reconnected at the reunion, now both divorced, and the rest is, as they say...history. 43 years in the making, our relationship has grown, despite some terrific complications and odds, and Rob proposed and I said YES! We will be married in the next few months and couldn't be any happier! Update March 30, 2011 Wedding is next month! We are very happy and looking forward to the wedding. Some old SPHS friends will join us. Also working on the 40th reunion for the Class of 1971 to be held this fall. Stay tuned for further details about the reunion. Update April 25, 2011 Rob and I got married this past Saturday. We had a wonderful wedding at Kent Manor in Stevensville, Maryland right across the Bay Bridge.
