Jason's Story

Wow, what can I say. When my elementary school dreams vanished and I didn't turn pro at Dodgeball, I went-on to attend three high schools - Jackson Memorial High School in New Jersey, Westmont High School and Lynbrook High School in California. After graduating high school (where I played goalie for our stud soccer team!) I went to West Valley College and then San Jose State where I got my B.S. (literally) in Marketing. I continued to play soccer until an eye injury pretty much ended my career. After goofing around for a while, working at crummy jobs selling mattresses (where I sold a mattress to my eventual wife!), furniture and exercise equipment, I finally found my calling. Since fitness was always a big part of my life, we ended up moving down to Pismo Beach (central coast) and opened up an athletic equipment company in 1999. Best job ever. It's like being in P.E. class all day without the smelly gym clothes! 3 years ago, in 2005, my wife and I had our first child, Ryan, and he is a mini-Jason; he's tall and skinny, funny and enjoys playing sports. I don't feel any older than I did in high school, (who does?) and I certainl...Expand for more
y don't act much older either! Since I went to three different high schools it was tough to make long-lasting friends, so I don't keep in contact with anyone from my years there, but I have to say that I met some incredible people and wished that I had a better chance to get to know them. To all my team mates on all of my soccer teams, I want you to know that I really enjoyed being a teammate with you all. We had some great battles and won some really exciting games. One of my most memorable moments came when we staged a come-back against mighty Saratoga after being down 2 - 0. Sean DelGrande, that rich punk, missed a penalty kick and I gave him the finger. Thankfully the ref missed that one. Any way, we got so fired-up that we came back and tied the game 2 - 2, a huge game that propelled us into the play-offs. So any way, life is good and I am enjoying my creative side now. I have written a book and am finishing another. I will also have a cartoon calender done this year too. It took a long time to get here but I'm having a ball! I hope to hear from some old friends and catch-up with things. I hope all is well with everyone!
