Jay Dante Rusciolelli:  

Life When he was in elementary school in China Lake/Ridgecrest California, he teamed up with his best friend Jarred McQuerry and formed a comedy team. They performed at the school. In high school in San Diego, Dante teamed up with a friend of his from his drama club named Gerald Wolfe. They started the comedy team of Dante and the Wolfe. The team performed at all of the major clubs between San Diego and LA and even made it on M-TV. In 1989 the team split off and Dante started his solo career. He has since gone on to be one off the top headlining comics in the country. He has appeared on numerous TV shows and in films. He has won many awards for stand up comedy including the top prize on America's Funniest People, many comedy contests and holds the record for winning the most comedy awards given at the B.E.T. Comedy Awards. He also won LA's Funniest black comic contest. Dante was invited to compete due to his popularity with black crowds. He beat out over 90 comics including Chris Tucker, Freeze Love, Mystro Clark, Alex Thomas and many more. Daily VARIETY has called Dante "the next Jim Carrey or Steve Martin", and THE WALL STREET JOURNAL called him “The Generation X comic”. He was also Co-head writer with his writing partner Anthony Ramos for Big Boy on POWER 106 radio in Los Angeles from 1998-2002. Since 1995 Dante has been the in store spokesman for Skechers shoes, where he gives away prizes, and signs autographs at Skechers store all over the country. Dante also is the only warm up comic for movies. Warm up comics usually warm up audiences for sitcoms or talk shows, he does it on the set of films. Many times a movie will have thousands of extra's, so he is brought in to entertain everyone. He has done this on the sets of MAN ON THE MOON, LITTLE NIKKY, SPIDERMAN, RAT RACE, ANGER MANAGEMENT, SEABISCIUT, and many more. Dante has continued his stand up appearing on at least one stand up TV show a year. He was also in a MILLER LITE commercial that lead to him becoming the first spokesman for MILLER ICE LITE. Dante is a regular at the COMEDY STORE and THE LAUGH FACTORY in LA. He is currently teaching stand up at a studio in North Hollywood and books his own weekly comedy night in Canoga Park. The Comedy Magazine is doing a story on him for being a pioneer in black comedy for their third issue out in fall of 2003. He recorded his comedy CD in San Diego recently and will release it in the winter of 2004. He is listed as one of the top 50 comedians in the country on almost every online or magazine poll. With his energy, talent and wide spread appeal he is destined to be one of the great entertainers of our time.
