Jean's Story
Life
After graduating (in Ontario, Oregon)
in 1946 I attended Eastern Oregon
College of Education for 1 year,
started my second year and was talked
out of continuing by my first husband,
Loren Chamberlain also of St. Helens.
We had 8 children and were divorced in
1967. I went to work at an insurance
agency in SH in 1956, worked there 22
years and then went to work for an
insurance company in Portland. In
1979 I married Art Rotter, who worked
in the post office across the street
from my ins. office. He has 6 kids.
He transfered to be postmaster in

nd we both retired in
1989 and moved to our home in
Yachats, Or, 25 south of Newport.
We each have 15 grandchildren, and I
have 25 greats and he has 4 greats.Life has been good.
We are both active in Lions Club. In October 2006, we moved to Jefferson, Oregon where we found the perfect retirement place for us. 2 Acres, big house all on one floor and Art can raise "Real" tomatoes. We've been here a year now and love it more each day. Our house in Yachats is still on the market and we kept the apartment we own next door so we can get an ocean fix once in while.
