Jeanette's Story
Life
I graduated from Highlands in 1977, then went to SAC where I met my first husband Remmurd Carter (Jefferson 1976). We moved to Kingsville to attend Texas A&I where we graduated in 1985. We moved to New Orleans for Remmurd to attend Tulane Law School. Remmurd and I divorced in 1991. I worked for the Louisiana Dept. of Labor from 1986 to 2007. In 1994 God sent me my beautiful baby girl, the answer to long forgotten prayers. She keeps me grounded when she's not driving me insane. Not that it's a long drive. I lived just across the river from New Orleans until 2007 and would love to hear from folks I went to school with. (I know, I know, bad grammer, but with whom I went to school sounds so snooty I just couldn't do it.)

he better. My daughter Becca has found a community of love and acceptance in my old neighborhood. She stayed there in San Antonio when I had to go back to New Orleans to work and to work on my house. I came back every 6 weeks or so to visit but that just wasn't enough. So, I retired after 20 years with the State of Louisiana and came home. Gonna finish raising my daughter and make a new life with the most amazing man in the world. Looking forward with great expectations to the second half of my life.
Tom and I got married on May 31, 2008 at The Little Church at La Villita and have just bought a house in Seguin. I drive into San Antonio Monday thru Friday to work. The gas is eating me up but having the time to be alone with my thoughts at the beginning and end of my day kinda balances things out.
I quit my job at SER Jobs For Progress and got a job with Health and Human Services. I started on March 16, 2009.
