Jeff's Story
Life:
Most of you know I became a quadriplegic after a diving incident in '82. My faith in God has carried me, though, and He has blessed me with a wife (Tami) and child. We adopted Taylor from China and he turned 13 in 2008. He likes tennis and has begun playing alto sax.
Besides raising my son, I spend my time in my home studio writing and recording songs. Google my name and find my SoundClick site. Ask about a free CD or burn your own by downloading songs there.
High School:
One of my favorite years of my life was my senior high school year. Having acquired nearly all of my required credits, I was able to take 5 electives plus 1 English class (Amer. Lit.) I made 5 A's and a C that year. Ha!
I was in Band, Stage Band, Music Theory, Choir, and Play Production. American literature was my last class of the day. Six hours. That's a long day. But it sure was fun.
College
I went to Southwestern Ok. St. Univ. and graduated in '79 with a BME (combined major in instrumental and vocal music). I was very active in music. Drum Major for 3 years.
My college roommate was Dale King and...Expand for more
we still keep in touch and are very close. We've done some co-writing. It turns out he's a songwriter, too. He's put music to some of my lyrics.
After a year in the business world (not my cup of tea) waiting for that break into Christian music that never came, I taught jr./sr. high school band and choir for a year at Lomega (by Kingfisher) then a year at a private Christian school in Tulsa. I would have stayed there had it not been for my diving incident.
A few years after my paralysis I actually got my break. For a couple of years in the mid 80's I was a contributing lyricist for Star Song records. After a handful of my songs were recorded by other artists, the relationship ended. I get a royalty check now and then but they're nothing to sneeze about.
I'm in Webb City, MO (by Joplin) now.
2007 was a big year for me:
I turned 50 that March.
July of that year was the 25th anniversary of my diving incident.
That year also marked the 20th anniversary of my marriage.
I hope you are having a wonderful life!
I'm not a Classmates Gold member so if you are, please write.
God bless you!
