Jennifer's Story
Life
I am a reclusive painter with an affinity for critters, the study of human sexuality, gender/feminist/queer theory, structural anatomy, genetic mutations, psychiatric maladies, and the beautiful strange. I began to study art history in earnest at the age of thirteen, and have attended classes at two different art schools. When other high gals taped up images of living heart-throbs in their lockers, I proudly displayed a magazine clipping of long-dead Tristan Tzara in mine. I've worked as a landscaper, an AIDS activist (ACT-UP; attendee of the International AIDS Conference in Vancouver, BC), an artists model, the supervisor of a staff of artists models at the first all-women's art school in the world (the second is in Japan), an art history teacher (Applied History of Dada and Surrealism), a research specialist studying non-profit arts and cultural organizations in Southwester...Expand for more
n Pennsylvania, and the keeper of cantankerous architects and eccentric chemists. I can braid the fingers on both hands, have a false front tooth, possess legs of different lengths, and I do not sweat. I dream in full-blown color, and I tend to remember a large percentage of what I've dreamed the night before. I adore the delicious foods of the world, especially fish of both raw and cooked varieties. I've recently done something I said I'd never do: I got married (to a brilliant and devastatingly handsome writer/photographer/historian who I first met when I was newly seventeen years of age). My hair was Clairol blue-black for over ten years, but now is long, the color of chestnuts, and out to strangle me while I am asleep. I'm a homebody who would rather nestle in bed with a dense read and a mug of strong coffee than go out and socialize. And, no, I still do not have a pet unicorn.
