Jennifer's Story

I attended Humber Valley Village Junior Middle School from Grade 3 to Graduation in June 1975. Then, I went to Etobicoke Collegiate Institute from 1975 to 1979 with graduation in November 1979 (Grade 12). I attended Sheridan College from 1979-1981. I am presently involved with Humber Valley United Church since I moved to Toronto in 1969. My activities were Sunday School, Confirmation, Humber Valley choirs both Chapel Tones and the Senior Choir with Raymond Gould. I went back to Humber College to upgrade to a Medical Administrative Assistant where I took CE night courses from 2001 to 2004 and graduated with Honours in 2004. My parents are Marion Brown (picture with me) and Alan Brown (father deceased) and I have two brothers: Ian & David. I am presently disabled, living under the Supportive Housing In Peel and under ODSP. I am presently looking very hard to find part-time jobs but it is extremely difficult under our economy today. Due to financial circumstances, I am unable to upgrade to see your pictures. Please let me know if you heard of me or remember me. I always wanted to be a success when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a fantastic idea. As it turns out, they were oblivious to underlyin...Expand for more
g mental health situations. I couldn't because of excess stress and anxiety, but now I take things in stride, cool down, and think things over to calm myself down. I enjoy relaxing by watching TV, playing with my pet rats, socializing with friends from church, a social grief group, and being with my best friends. If I'm going to work somewhere, I need to have confidence, assertiveness, and maturity to be able to deal with the day-to-day. The one person from my past who I'd most like to see again is Dianne Berryman, because we were very close friends in school.. Curling, The Amazing Race, American Idol, Pet Hooded Rats, dogs. If I won $100 million, I'd give a quarter of it to charity, then spend the rest on a car, investments and future necessities in life. My greatest childhood memory is when I was living in Montreal where I had two male best friends. They helped me to go to school, look after me, and we had a great time playing with each other. When my father had to move to Toronto because of the Montreal crisis coming up in the late 60's, it was an extreme blow to me. Being with these two wonderful friends, it was very hard to adjust to a new lifestyle in Etobicoke, schools, and life was never the same after that.
