Jennifer's Story

Life Moved away right after high school which was still in the same state. Thought living closer to my mom would be fun, boy was i wrong. Was married in 1994, and then moved back to the area. Had my Daughter in Montevideo MN then my son in Faribault. Then i got divorced in 2001, where i had to look back and see who i was. Moved around for a little while and somehow ended back in Waterville so that the folks could help watch the kids while i went back to school. of course now they are going to move up north in 2008. Had a full-time job for a while but cause of the school schedule decided to go full-time school instead. Just remarried in 2006. Some friends tell me that i settled for him, but should be with someone else. My kids are 14 and 10 now and it is different for them to not need their mom so much now. But the up side now for me also is that i don't need babysitters and can leave them by them self for a little a while and have time with my husband on dates, or even go out. I love to travel but with school have not had that much time to travel. New for 2007-2009 The Minnesota SkillsUSA recently held election of officers and named four South Central College students to serve the organization for the coming year: Jennie Drees of Waterville- Community Social Service program and Child development paraprofessional. This was an experience that i would never change, did lots of traveling with this, and built more self-confidence in that i never even thought that i had (if i only used it in High School) working for SMILES in the Branch office outside of Waseca. So my life is getting back on track again, and getting to where i wanted to be some years ago. Now have AAS degree in Community Social Service and i can say that completing one goal that i have had for years is a great feeling. the one thing t...Expand for more
hat gets me the most is that i have a teachers and students that still look for me these days from the input that i have had to get to that degree. Life experience can get you a long ways, but how you handle it gets you even further in life. My life has taken many turns, gone over a lot of bumps in the road, but yet i have been able to keep a smile on my face and look at it as a learning lesson. When ever you get down on yourself and wonder what you could have done differently just think of the things that you have been through and what you did along the way. You may not ended up with the ONE, or got the job that you wanted, but somwhere along the way, something different was meant for you. I truly feel that i was meant to be where i'm at now, maybe not with all the people that i thought i would be with, but with good lessons on the way. When looking at the things that you can talk about it is kinda interesting to see the topics that they give you. my first crush, don't talk about it, a do over in my life don't talk about it, weirdest job i have had was for one summer went to work for valleyfair, that is not a adult thing to do when you have a family to care for, but lucky for me i had some surgerys so wasn't there that long, my friends will remember me the way that they want too. For the person that i'm now is nothing like i was in high school. I teach kids in high school, which can you believe me the quite one teaching kids are to open up and put themselves out there a little and not be so shy. Yeah at least i have some things from my past that can help me teach them. My wildest things in school i would have to say is between my first crush and me, those are days that you don't get back or talk about with many friends either. If there is anything else that you want to know just drop me a line.
