Jennifer's Story
Life
I'm Jennifer Barton and I live in Melbourne, Florida. I was raised in Melbourne and am now raising a beautiful daughter of my own with my husband Jason. We love spending time together, especially at the bookstore or Disneyworld.
School
I received a bachelor's degree in Mathematics in 1998 and went on to receive a Master's in Math Education in 1999 from the University of Florida, Go Gators! Later I went back to school at University of Central Florida to work on getting a second bachelor's in Electrical Engineering. I started an Engineering internship at Northrop Grumman and with the two degrees I already had hired me on as a full time engineer. Instead of finishing at UCF, I started the Systems Engineering Master's Program at FIT so that I could go to school locally...Expand for more
and work pays for it :-) I will graduate with this degree in May 2008!
Workplace
After graduating college, I worked as a math teacher at a Sleepy Hill middle school in Lakeland, FL. The following school year my husband, Jason, started another job in Melbourne, FL so I moved back to Melbourne and worked as a high school math teacher at Eau Gallie High School. I didn't care too much for the politics behind being a teacher so I left teaching and took an administrative assistant position at Rockwell Collins for a part-time job so that I could work on starting a family. Once I had my daughter, I stayed at home for three years while going back to school. I started an internship at Northrop Grumman and was hired on after my internship. I have been with Northrop since May 2005.
