Jennifer's Story

Life Hmmm... what is there to say? Lots I guess! Bob (LC 1987) and I finally filed for divorce - it was final 2/21/06 (we were separated since Aug. 2003). Stayed very single for quite a while and had fun... also got tired of playing the game after a while tho... and finally settled down with one of my best guy friends- Tim. We have been together since August 11, 2007 (Just had our 2 year anniversary)... Dating friends was waaaay against my rules- but it has worked out nicely! Tim and I got married on March 8, 2010 :) No kids- just my dog, Daisy! She's a pain in the butt, but I love her! She's a malamute mix- very cute & BIG. Tim and & I have also acquired 2 cats: Clovis & Gizmo. They all have a love-hate relationship... LOL College I have a Bachelor's in Clinical Psychology, and credits at both the Master's and Doctoral level in the field. However, I've finally left Psychology behind! I finished my Master's in Human Resource Management in April 2007. So glad to be DONE...Expand for more
:) Workplace I currently work at Ivy Tech Community College as the Regional Director of Student Life, Development & Leadership. I work with the student groups & organizations on our 4 campuses- Gary, East Chicago, Valparaiso & Michigan City. Have been with ITCC since February 2005. Family: In Jan. 2008 (on my birthday) my dad was diagnosed with lung cancer. He passed away on June 2, 2010 after a long fight (2 1/2 years with a pretty aggressive cancer.) I helped my step-mom take care of him for the last 6 mos. of his life... going to treatment at the University of Chicago and just staying with them a few times a week to give her a bit of a break. I miss him terribly- it has been over a year since he passed. I am SOO glad that I took the time off work to help care for him that last 6 mos. While it was hard to watch him go through many of the things he did- I would not trade that time for ANYTHING in this world. Some of the best heart-to-heart time we spent in all my life..
