Jennifer 's Story
Life
Since high school, my life has been pretty chaotic, to say the least. After NSHS, I spent four years at Bryant College (now Bryant University) where I earned a Bachelor's Degree in Liberal Studies (with a concentration in Communication, and a minor in English), made some wonderful life-long friends, and met my husband, Taylor.
After college, I worked in corporate communications for Citizens Bank where I meandered my way through three departments for approximately five years (from 1999-2004). In January 2002, I decided to go back to school for my Master's Degree. So, I enrolled in the University of Rhode Island's graduate program. It was while I was at URI that I discovered my love (and talent) for teaching at the college level. munication and small group communication. In December 2004, I completed my Master of Arts in Communication Degree and temporarily left the student-side of academia.
2005 was a big year for me as began teaching as an adjuct faculty member at URI and Rhode Island College in January and then married the love of my life on June 18th. I also decided that adjunct teaching wasn't for me and applied to and was accepted into the University of Connecticut's Communication Sciences Ph.D. program, which I began in August of 2005.
So, as of right now, I am a busy, newlywed Ph.D. student looking forward to finishing my doctorate in 2009. After writing this bio, I realized exactly how hard it is to summarize the last 10 years of your life in four paragraphs, so I hope that my synopsis was worth reading.
