Jennifer's Story
Life
After graduating high school, I was off to Old Dominion University in Norfolk. I stayed there until 1996, when I transferred to the University of Kentucky in Lexington, Kentucky, to study Physical Therapy. Ok, my grades were always OK, but PT school is like med school now. You have to have a straight 4.0 GPA and tons of volunteer experience. Anyway, I changed from PT to Social Work, and got burned out really quick. So, I left school, and took some time off. n 2002 (a boy), got divorced a year later, then went back to school and got my Bachelor's in Accounting in 2005. My first "real job" came from a software company in Herndon, Virginia. So, I decided to move back to Virginia with my sister. The software company moved to Massachusetts, so I took a Payroll Accountant position for a non-profit in DC. Way too many things wrong with that position, so I HAD to leave. Now, I'm a Reimbursement Accountant for Sunrise Senior Living in McLean, Virginia.
