Jerome's Story
Life
I was born a poor... Nah!
Hey, as for my bio, graduated MLHS in '81. Went to DeVry Tech. at the Wodbridge, NJ campus. Later joined the U.S. Air Force and got stationed all over the world (that's the Repub. of the Phillippines, Texas and Germany). After 8.5 years of service, decided that the military life really wasn't for me and decided to become a silly-villian (aka civilian) again. A few months later started working for a small computer company (with big connections) and became a computer technician (which I currently am today). January 2001 I re-entered government service as a federal GS employee. I guess that it's been a fun ride... can't wait to see what's around the next curve!
Oh yeah, and I got married in March of 2005 and we had our son in September of 2006. Also, I returned to the states and worked at the Pentagon from 2007-2008 and after 14 months was fortunate enough to find a job back in Germany, so that's where I'm living and working right now. In Heidelberg, Germany for the HQ 7th Army (formerly known as USAREUR).
School
School! I didn't go to school! I just absorbed all this knowledge through the ...Expand for more
air waves! LOL
Ok, I did the normal schools and then ran out of cashola and was invited to leave! Basically I've been going ever since. Still haven't graduated though... but I have gotten closer! Besides, life as a computer tech means that you never stop adapting and learning, so I'm in this one for the long haul...so to speak. ;-)
UPDATE! I started back to school, and have just finished my second year. Major is Software Engineering, with concentrations in Network Security. I made the Dean's List the first year, and am still carrying my 4.0 GPA (who would have EVER imagined that out of yours truly! LOL
Workplace
Well! We made it back! After some 18+ years in Germany (1989 - 2007, plus 6 months in 1987), we moved to Alexandria, VA in 2007. It wasn't exactly where we wanted to be, but it's been a pretty cool experience to actually work inside the Pentagon. I stayed there for an entire 14 months, and then took a job back in Germany and we're now living in a nice house in the Bad Durkheim area of Germany (it's one of the larger wine regions in Germany). Next step is to buy my first house. We'll see how that all works out.
