Jerry's Story
Life
Married Sandra Akers of Eastern Hills High in 1968. Attended Texas Tech U. from 1965-1971. U.S. Army from 1971-1973. Degree in Architecture from Tech, worked for Geren Architects from 1973-1986. Working for VLK architects in Arlington TX from 1986 to current. One daughter grown, two grandsons and one step grandson...no grand-daughters darn it. Two bull terrier dogs are our kids now. I collect trade tokens, read a lot and write some for hobby magazines. Interested in the history of the old west, and early America. Military
drafted, reporte for duty Nov 11, 1971, flew to san francisco, reported for duty at Fort Ord. Boot camp fort Ord November, December 71 to Jan 72. Volunteere for duty in vietnam, assigned to cameron station, Virginia just s. of pentagon, where I spent the rest of my 2 years active duty. Worked at Recruiting support center, did design work in the pentagon and for traveling recruting exhibits. Met General George Patton Jr. and designed the Bradley Corridor in Pentagon and chief of staff of Army's office.
