Jerry's Story
Life
HI! Friends and classmates of Whitmell HS. I have been residing in the state of Oregon for the past 38 years. My wife and I have recently retired from the retail electronics business. We live on the beautiful south west coast of Oregon. I really enjoyed the last class reunion we had , the 45th and hope there will be more. To find me ,click on the MESSAGE BOARD on the Whitmell High School page and look for the message 'where is everybody' you should find my e-mail addresses there. PS, you might wonder why I'm on the Tunstall register,it's because I saw a few of my classmates registered there too. Whitmell HS was consolidated to the new Tunstall HS a few years after I graduated from Whitmell. Whitmell HS does have its own page also and there are other class of 62 grads there too.
Have a prosperous year and visit out here in god's country!
Update:
I visited my sons in Danville and Roanoke this past summer, Sept.10-24-06
My wife and I were looking at real estate, as we are thinking of relocating there, after we retire this coming year.
Note as of 04/19/2006 I and my wife are officially retired the first of this year.
The business is for sale by Copper Tree Reality and after that , our home here
will also be for sale. We are excited about relocating in the Danville area. We are actively looking at properties in Danville, Martinsville and possibly in NC, by real estate listings on the web.
Best regards,
Jerry Conner
Update: My wife and I visited again this Oct. 17-29 2007.Attended our Whitmell HS 45th reunion on Sat. Oct. 20 at the Tuscorora Country Club. Great Times had by all I hope.
Also visited my son Richard and wife in Roanoke Va.
Still looking at real estate in the Danville area. We are retiring this month and winding down the last of our business affairs here in Oregon, so we can move there.
Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year to all.
See Ya! Jerry
Update March 9, 2009
We have postponed our move to Danville, due to my wife's on going eye problems for the past 9 months.Had cataracts removed from both eyes and developed problems with the right eye.
Also the down economy and terrible real estate markets have dampened our spirits, so will just wait for a while and see what happens. Still hope to see my sons, relatives, and friends soon!
Take care, Jerry

progress on moving here to Danville, Va. My wife finally had her eye problem corrected temporarily. We did in fact buy a nice home near Danville in Jan 2010. Had to wait another 7 months to sell our home in Oregon. So we moved to Danville the middle of Aug. 2010. So nice to be back here, and my wife loves it too. We have been so busy adjusting to life here, and it's fun too. Had another Class of '62 reunion
this year also . The 50th. Enjoyed it all. Have a happy Christmas and a prosperous New Year too. Later, Jerry

Update: Sept 18,2016
Still enjoying life in Va. Haven,t traveled or seen all the wonderful places in the surrounding states yet.
They are still on our list. I love growing veggies in my garden. I am still in the Kiwanis club, last year as president.
Also volunteer some time to the Gods Pit Crew org. They do so much for disaster victims. So, volunteer work and
things to do at home has kept me mostly busy.
Hope we have another class reunion in the next few years. Like visiting with friends and classmates.
Peace and blessings to all. Jerry
