of the RF part of the earth station and other areas. Responsible for day to day RF operation, maintenace and occasional traffic uplinks and downlinks. Assitsed in the installation of HBO's Ku band uplink/downlink and 2 Vertex 9 meter antennas. This also required the relocation of one of our 11meter C band antennas. Oversaw the installation and testing of 4 other 11 meter C band antennas and 1 ATCI simulsat antenna. Invovled with the initial testing of the Videocipher I and II scrambling systems and the Digicipher I and II compression systems. Have also worked with many other scrambling/compression systems including Leitch Viewguard, Tiernan,Tandberg, S.A B-Mac, S.A. PowerVu and S.A. PowerVu Plus. Responsible for part of the design, installation and mainly responsible for the day to day operation of Time Warner Cable's Athena digital operation located at our facility. Set up backhuals from HBO events at venues in Las Vegas, L.A., London and others. Worked with the transmission department in planning and testing of backhaul paths for major concerts and events like Wimbledon. Was part of the group which selected the initial backhaul compression system as the facility migrated to digital. Flew to Singapore to check out the final testing phase of HBO's earth station there. As part of the rebuild of the Hauppauge facility I totally redesigned and oversaw the rebuilding of the facilities transmitter room. 2004 - Present Taking the strong advice of my nuerologist I stopped working at the end of 2003. I still remain in touch with the industry through proffesional organizations and my contacts. I'm a charter member of the National Association of Radio and Telecommunications Engineers. I also belong to the Society of Broadcast Engineers. As a hobby I run the WGLI, Babaylon memorial Internet radio station, 1290gli.com from my basement.
