Jessie's Story
Life
There has a great deal that has happened in the time since we parted. Well, I went to Ohio State and then transferred to Kent State and graduated from there and there went to the University of Iowa (yes, thre are black folks in Iowa) I got two Master's Degrees (Counseling and Higher Education Administration) Since my partner (at the time) was working for the the Assocication of Retarded Citizens as a Regional Job Coach. I played the travling housewife working at colleges and universities.
After grad school, I worked St. Louis, then Buffalo, New York, New York City, NY,Oberlin, OH, Minneapolis, MN, Dayton, OH. I got tired and left. Then I went to Erie PA, and worked at...Expand for more
Edinboro University of Pennsylvania as the Associate Director of Student Activities. Since then, I went to Grand Rapids,Michigan and ran my own department for two and a half years. Since I wanted to move up and needed the credential to do so, I decided to go back to school full-time. I finished my Ph.D. I got it from Western Michigan University in Higher Education Leadership. When I am not running around like an idiot, I serve as a diversity consultant for the Social Justice Training Institute. Hope all is well
and people are enjoying the gifts of thier labor. The more things change the more they stay the same!!!
