Jill's Story
Life
I made a career change 16+ years ago from interior designer to real estate appraiser. My business is Barta Appraisal Specialists in which I worked with my father & then took over when he retired. I had been training my nephew to take over my business for a year & 1/2. I finally turned the reins over to him at the end of 2006 & RETIRED! I have been happily married (my 2nd) since 1991. My husband Jim retired in 2005, so I feel very fortunate to have been able to join him. I never thought I'd say it (having been a NORTH side girl) but I now live in Two Rivers! Being retired we are able to get out of WI for the winters which is great. No more shoveling snow & bundling up in all those layers to keep warm. We winter in FL just outside of Orlando. My husband works at Disney 1 day a week for the "perks" so we go there often. I have a son who is 25 & recently gratuated in Recording Arts. He presently lives in Orlando so I get to see him in the winters. I also have a step son who is 31 & making a career ...Expand for more
change into insurance. He has a wife of just over a year so I have a wonderful daughter-in-law now & we are anxiously awaiting grandchildren. I love to create; painting, drawing & photography. I am now focusing more on my art work. My lastest fasination is silk painting & working with gourds. I teach an art exploration group here in TR & host small art projects in our FL subdivision. I was involved with our 30 year class reunion, trying to track down all of you and keep addresses up to date in the database. Now, it's already 5 years later and I'm back at it! I can't believe we've been out of school all this time! A part of me still thinks I'm that teenager, but a look in the mirror quickly brings me back to reality.
