Jill's Story

Life Life has been going by fast since graduation. I have not kept in touch with anyone probably since graduation 1987. Things happen, people change & move on. I do talk to about 3 people and it has been fun catching up. Anyhow, MY life has been pretty good. I worked pretty much since school has ended and tried a little college. College life isn't for me, I have found out! I enjoy the workforce. I took a break to have my son 12.5 years ago, and went back to work when he was 4. I also tried the stay-at-home mom thing too, I like it, but I need to be out there too! I am divorced, for 5 years. It's just my son and I now. He is in 7th grade, goes to Wilbur Wright Middle School, in Munster, ready to turn 13 in February. Times have changed as his homework is somewhat high school work. The things they are learning now is unbelievable! I am single and I do enjoy the single life. I hang out with my work friends and school friends. The laughing never ceases. I devote time to animal welfare and studies. I am a certified vet tech and will do what I can to help any animal in need. I also help raise money for various charities. In my spare time, which is very rare, I love to cook and host gatherings at my house with my friends. I also spend quality time with my son voluteering at the Humane Society and many other things. Now I am going to answer all the story idea questions since they seem pretty interesting. What do I have to lose, right? 1. What would surprise everyone at my reunion about me? Well, since I didn't go, I am sure nothing since no one probably remembered me much anyway. But if they did remember me, they would see that I speak my mind and am blunt and to the point. 2. What teacher would I love to see again? That is a tough one, and I can't recall too many. I do know I probably hated most of them, that is why I ditched often. Simic is the one I hated the most, I do remember that!! None of them stand out as being great. 3. Wildest thing I did in school? I did so much with Lisa, I think pranking teachers, calling them collect an...Expand for more
d saying we were other teachers so they'd accept the charges. That was the best---until we got busted!! Fun times! Plus hiding alcohol in the locker and getting a bathroom pass to go drink. 4. What happend to my first crush? Hmmm, I think I had a handful. I sometimes think of a certain someone and wonder where he is, out of curiosity tho. Too bad I didn't go to the reunion---his brother was there! Darn it!! 5. How do I hope old friends remember me? They really don't, so I don't care. The ones that do remember me, they matter, and they at least care enough to wonder. 6. My happiness? I would be running a huge shelter for animals, unwanted animals with the most unlimted funds pouring in and a personnel that I have handpicked, because only special certain people with huge hearts are qualified to take care of my animals. 7. My biggest surprise? That I am divorced, and that I only have one child. I planned on being married forever with 3 kids. I guess my ex didn't have the same plan! 8. What would I do differently? I would have pushed a little harder to become a veterinarian. It's my life dream. But I can't. no one knew how to address my issues with math, why I failed so much. I was not dumb, or lazy. I had a problem, real learning problem that those damn teachers didn't care to explore with me so they throw me into a humiliating special ed math class in my senior year to throw away the problem! I'M DYSLEXIC!!! I have worked years after to deal with it and live with it. IT's still annoying and a problem sometimes, but I handle it! Numbers are my weakest point. 9. My weirdest job? I love this one---working at a groomer and squeezing out the anal glands of dogs. That was my position only---squeezing the glands! That lasted a month! There was no pay in that!! 10. Where have I lived and why did I move? I lived in Indiana my whole life. I hate this state. It's boring! I live in Lake County and really really want to go!!! We had a house in Minnesota growing up and went there on our vacations. How I would love to go back there to live.
