James's Story
Life
Currently living in the thriving metropolis of Plattsmouth, Nebraska, (15 minutes south of Omaha) since 1995 and previously Council Bluffs since 1991.
After substitiute teaching in Council Bluffs and teaching and coaching at Plattsmouth HS, I am teaching at South HS in Omaha. I have been a district inservice presenter and selected to present at the Plum Creek Writing Workshop in 2007.
Although my playing days in soccer have past, I have pursued life as a soccer official. I gained the USSF referee grade of National Referee in 1999. Officiating many regional youth and amateur tournaments...Expand for more
throughout my career, including the Youth National tournament in 1998 and the Amateur National tournament in 1999. I was fortunate to get a taste of the MLS in 1996 as an assistant referee. I am currently retired from the active National Referee list with the grade of National Referee Emeritus since 2005. I am currently an intercollegiate National Referee and currently officiate in the Missiouri Valley, Big XII, and Mid-Continent conferences.
I married Kelly Sparks in 1998, we have three handsome sons: Jamie, Jake, and Jason, and one beautiful daughter, Katie.
