Jim's Story

Life After East High: I attended the University of Utah. Played football and graduated from the College of Pharmacy in 1961 I went to work for a short time with several pharmacies in the Salt Lake City area. In 1968 I went to work for the University Hospital and interred graduate school to work for a Master degree in Hospital Pharmacy. In 1972 I took a leave of absence from University Hospital to attend University of Southern California to seek a Masters Degree Program in Nuclear Pharmacy which I received after a residency at the University of Washington in 1973. I returned to the University Hospital at the level of Assistant Director of Pharmacy. I worked there until 1982, helping to develop many new pharmacy programs to improve patient care and the instruction of pharmacy students. I left to a job in Denver, Colorado in a Nuclear Pharmacy. This job lasted only 1 year. I left and went to Portland, Oregon at a job back in hospital pharmacy at Oregon Health Sciences University as Assistant Director. Again we developed many new pharmacy programs to improve patient care. In 1985 I went to Kaiser Permenente as Director of Pharmacy at Sunnyside Medical Center. In 1999 I retired and got involved in the sport of Dog Agility. Maybe you've seen it on TV, where dogs are trained to race over an obstacle course. My wife (Carol Snedaker) and I have developed an Agility Training School, called All American Agility and I'm involved in Jud...Expand for more
ging Agility Trials. We live in the country south of Portland, Oregon in a community called Wilsonville. We have a place with four acres and we have 6 dogs. Can't do Dog Agility without dogs and we are also involved in Herding. Which means we also have sheep. Children wide, we have 3 daughters and 1 son. One of your daughters lives in Utah in St. George. The other three live in the Northwest. Two in Wilsonville and Rick in Vancouver, Washington, which is only across the Columbia River from Portland. We have 7 grandchildren 6 grandsons and 1 granddaughter. Also one Great Granddaughter. In October of 2008 Carol and I Celebrated our 50th Wedding Anniversary, we had a great dinner Party with family and friends. In 2010-2011 Carol become very ill and after a heroic battle she passed away in September 2011. After a year of loneliness I met a very lovely lady and we have become very good friends and companions. Her name Is Peggy. She also is widowed and has 3 beautiful children and 9 grandchildren. If you are on Facebook you can follow our life and adventures. We are enjoying each other and do many activities with each other. I sold my place in Wilsonville, Oregon and moved to North Plains, Oregon to live near my Honey. I hope we are going to have a 60th High school reunion. Would be fun to see old friends and classmates after all these many years! Hope you all are doing well and are in good health. Until we meet again. Jim
