Jim's Story
After school, I worked for ten years as a freelance musician around NYC (that's me playing the whacked-out trombone solo over the theme to 'Rocco's Modern Life'). For the next decade, I was a restaurant critic (for NY Press, Newsday, Newsweek, several books, etc), and eventually got tied up creating and running a web site, Chowhound.com, which started out as a lark but got completely out of hand, took over my life, and was finally sold i...Expand for more
n 2005 to a big corporation...which in turn was bought by CBS. I'm like a speck of plankton consumed by a series of larger fish.
Now it's back to music, and some writing, along with travel, hiking, yoga, salsa dancing, beer tastings and jam sessions, and trying to understand where all the years went. I still feel about 11 years old.
