If you get a chance, serve your community. We formed a non profit company in 2000 to provide wheelchair bound individuals access to their homes at no cost to the individual. We raise about $300,000 per year for this work and receive another ~$100,000 in donation of materials and labor. This has been very rewarding. This is an all volunteer group and overhead is provided by our company, so funds raised are spent on construction. We work with local organizations to choose the families to assist. The Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children, United Cerebral Palsy, Senior Adult Services, Baylor Institute for Rehabilitation and People Helping People and others have all helped us fulfill our mission by locating the families for HAF to help. This has been a great experience for me. So, find a good cause and it will enrich your life. Jim
