I married in 1968after graduation from Central High School, by the end of the year I was on a plane bound for basic training at USCG Training and Supply Center Alemeda,California. Training lasted twelve weeks, I formed up in Charlie Company 68 and graduated in February of 1969. My first duty station assignment was the USCGC Salvia WLB400 based at Mobile,Also. After two and half years aboard the Salvia I was promoted to 3rd.Boatswainsmate and transferred to USCGBase New Orleans,Louisiana. In December of 1971 I was promoted to 2nd.Bos'nsmate. July 1971-October 1974 I was transferred to USCGBase Governor's Island New York,New York. From October 1974- August1977 I received my promotion to 1st.
