Joan's Story
After high school, I was married and had 2 children, got divorced, remarried and in 1980 moved from Dayton to Defiance where I lived for 1 1/2 yrs. Then it was on to Evansville, Indiana for 10 months, then my last move was to Bloomington, Illinois where I have lived since 1983. Within the next year I will be moving to Chattanooga, Tennessee where my youngest son John is an emergency physician. He finished residency this past June. My oldest son Jeff has been in the Navy for 19 years and is a Senior Chief on the Chosin, based out of Pearl Harbor. e 70's,but didn't graduate. I also attended our local community college where I received a Certificate in Small Business Management and actually made the Dean's List. I own my own business and also work for the Census Bureau as a Senior Field Rep doing Current Surveys (what we do the other 9 years!). Working in the field, I don't have to go to an office, I work out of my home and also use my car as an office!
I now live in Chattanooga, Tennessee and am still employed by the Census Bureau but my job now is Field Supervisor. I still work out of my home and am attached to the Philadelphia Regional Office of the Census Bureau. Another update, my son John is married to Ginger and they have a daughter Sage born January 31,2011.
