Joan's Story
Life
I'm looking for Ann Schafer. Does anyone have her phone number? Can someone apprise her I'm looking to reach her. She married a Vanevenoudenhoven????
Happily married! Have a beautiful 4yr old boy, Cody! (It's a West Coast name). 7 indoor cats & '2' beagles (Max & Logan), Homeowner & just bought an RV. Into landscaping, lots of flowers in my yard. Camping & Traveling! Only 4 hours from the Ocean! Looking at land there. Living in Oregon where we are 15 minutes from Mt. Bachelor. Go snow boarding or skiing, horseback riding, hiking at Smith Rock, white water rafting... a beautiful resort community! Avion water is mountain runoff here! You buy it in a bottle. It's all about lifestyles and it's absolutely beautiful here year-round. In fact the sun shines year round. Dry heat (Central Oregon Desert). Fewer bugs than Wisconsin and mild winters! Life just keeps getting better! Love to hear from you all!
School
I'd have to say that high school was a blur. Only a few friends really matter to this day who I can't seem to reach. UW-Oshkosh carries vivid moments and life long friends to this day.
College
I had the best time throughout all the years I attended college. I learned a great deal, met a lot of people and mostly, learned all about "me"! Established goals and achieved them -- both rewarding personally and professionally. Ohhh, and I got my college degree!
Believe in yourself enough to adapt to all avenues that life offers. You'll look back and know the reasons why you are standing firmly. I chose my direction in life and am pleased with where I'm at. My college education opened up many new opportunities that otherwise would not have been within my reach. I have college friendships to this day that are golden! College helps to provides tools to make life choices! It starts with "you" and opens up into endless journeys and continues to this ...Expand for more
day ongoingly. Bottom line: I loved college, I grew by leaps & bounds. Everyday, I look back onto why I am who I am today and that I have the tools I need to continue my journey. It's all about choices and freedom.
Workplace
It feels like I did it all. Worked at Kaukauna Public Library while attending High School. Then moved to Appleton prior to going to UW-Oshkosh. Loved college. Worked making pizzas for a day, retail, college admin, credit bureau--anything that would contribute to the evening out with the girls (and of course college tuition). Those were the days. Moved to Appleton. Worked for a bank, Exclusive Company P/T retail & finally 16 yrs with Presto Products w/i the International, Military/ Recycling Sales/Mktg arena. Went back to UW-Oshkosh on weekends to receive my bachelors in Liberal Studies to remove the glass ceiling. Worked at Oshkosh Hoffmasters-Prod Mgmt, then relocated to Oregon. In order, Systems Software Specialist, Int'l Sls Specialist-Orcom, Home Mtg Loan Officer, Housing Sls Mgr-Palm Harbor Homes to Account Executive-KFXO (FOX 39) TV Station (American Idol/NFL). Loved working within the Entertainment industry.
Now currently working as Application Analyst for Cascade Healthcare Community (local hospital/clinics). Great industry and wonderful caregivers helping passionate people to live healthier.
I always wanted to be a independent charismatic person when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a fitting idea. As it turns out, they were correct. The wildest thing I ever did in school was paint the Kaukauna Water Tower and they we got caught and had to clean it. It was created with hearts. LOL THe one person from my past who I'd most like to see again is Anne Schaefer because she and I made so many fond memories of my time in High School and often I think of her. Part of who I am today stems from our friendship from back then.
