Joan S.'s Story
Life
I taught 5th and 6th grades for 35 years along with doing real estate and headhunting (during summers and sabbaticals.) Came to California after graduating from the U. of A. and have been here ever since. My husband died in l997. I have two sons and 5 gorgeous grandsons and we all love to be together. I took them all on a Carribbean cruise for my 75th birthday and last year I took them all to Tahiti. We had a ball. My older son reciprocated and took me with his two sons and his wife to Cancun. ...I'm too damned old now and don't have enough upper body strength. But I still enjoy snorkeling and in Tahiti we fed the sharks and swam with dolphins. I truly enjoy being retired and my license plate reads NOMOE WK....that's the way I like it and I get thumbs up on it. Am heading to Churchill, Manitoba, Canada in October of this year (2006) to see the polar bears (before they're gone). Will go out in a tundra buggy, up in a helicopter and will enjoy a dog sled ride. Would love to hear what some of my old classmates are doing now.
