Joann's Story
Life
I currently live in Plano TX, and I am married (since 1995) and have two young boys (born in 2002 & 2004). I am a stay-at-home mom and volunteer at our church's preschool and children's ministry - Greenville Oaks Church of Christ in Allen TX. If you would like to contact me, we are listed in Plano under Sean and JoAnn Dodson. (Written December 2004)
School
From 2nd grade until graduation, I was a BISD student. Over that time I made a lot of friendships that grew and changed and a few friendships continue to this day. I dated a bit and wished I had dated more just for the fun of it. I was pretty shy accept with good friends, plus I was not allowed to date until my junior year so admittedly my time and options were limited. Nonetheless, I had fun in high school, and I look forward to our next reunion! By the way, I have a copy of the 2001 reunion group photo scanned if anyone would like to see it - just email me and I'll send it to you.
College
I had basically two roommates: one kicked me out after 10 weeks (Vicky you know I'm not lying) and the other ...Expand for more
Sheri roomed with me for many semesters, and we are still good friends today. I worked in Nelson dorm for three years first as a RA then as a Director's Assistant and enjoyed getting to know some really great freshmen girls. Lunch in the Bean with all my friends was probably the best part of college. I remember skipping chapel but I would still go to the Bean. College was were I met my wonderful husband Sean - he was originally one of my favorite lunch buddies long before we started dating.
Workplace
After college, I had only three jobs. At first I was a Special Education High School teacher at Sunset High School for two years, and I spent my summers doing contract labor for Dunn & Bradstreet in Dallas. Teaching was tough on me especially emotionally. In July 1998, I joined On-Target and quickly became intergrated into their workplace, mostly in Human Resources. I loved the challenge of working in a small business. Since May 2002, I have been a stay-at-home mother. This job is the most rewarding indeed. My sons Zachary and Cody are fun and keep me on my toes!
