Joanna's Story
Life
Right after high school I worked at Mill Hollow for the summer. It was a great experience. I then moved to Phoenix in October of '96 to go to college. I almost didn't go because my Mom died in July of '96 and I didn't want to leave my Dad. But he made me stick to my plan and I am so grateful that he did. I married Steve Burris in October 1998, graduated college with a degree in Accounting in June of 1999 and had my first daughter, Samantha in August 1999. I worked for three and a half more years and quit just before my second daughter, Cassidy was born in March 2003. ing our fourth in September 2007. My husband went to the same college as I did and graduated in June 2001 with a degree in Business Technology. He is now a technology teacher at Independence H.S. in Glendale, AZ. Along with that he is a Badminton coach in the fall (badminton is big down here) and a softball coach/baseball umpire in the spring. At church he is on the activities commitee and I am the primary chorister.
College
I attended DeVry Institute of Technology (now DeVry University) in Phoenix, AZ from November 1996 to June 1999. I lived with roommates Trudi Eisenhour from Sandy, Utah and Theresa Lode from Judith Gap, Montana for two years, then lived with my husband for the last 8 months of college.
