Joanne's Story
I guess the most exciting thing I have done recently is helping to catch a serial killer in 2005.
His name was Drew Planten and I "inherited" him when I was promoted and became the manager of the lab he worked in. You can read all about Drew and the women he killed if you Google his name.

He committed suicide in jail, here in Raleigh, about two months after his arrest.
The rest of my life has been ordinary, thank goodness: two children, five grandchildren (one under 1, others are 3, 4, 10 and 11). I am out on disability leave from work at the moment. I have a lot of pain and instability in my legs and back and tend to fall down a lot. Not good in a chemistry lab!
