Jody's Story
Life
Hi anybody,
It's late and I'm up, so I thought hey I have a great idea why don't I dig up a bunch of depressing "could have been's" from my past. I'm a bit disappointed with the universe so far; I'm pretty sure we've been forgotten as we ride this ball of mud through space, kind of like that green furry cheese I should throw out. I hope your lives have lived up to the promises given to you in high school, and for all our sakes I hope a generation will one day come along that learns from the past, so we don't have to keep riding this same rollercoaster into infinite at nausea. May U live 2 C the dawn.
School
It's pretty easy to talk about high school; I didn't really like it. There are only a few endearing things about it: first all the incredibly beautiful girls that I was able to dream about (and only dream about) and see every day, and second Ms. Weiher. It's ironic to me that the drama teacher seemed the most genuine, and I hope some of her passion rubbed off on me. I was never really inspired to work in school; I liked to work after school at Austin's and play D and D. Hey if you're life isn't living up to the promise make a different one, if only in your head.
College
College was more of the same to me except that I was fortunate enough to meet the love of my life that is now married to some other guy. Yes, the gods do keep the blessings coming :). While we were together she gave me a reason to achieve, she made me want to succeed for her; and for a while I did quite well, until we went our seperate ways. I did finally go out with and date some girls, but my Army College Fu...Expand for more
nd ran out, so in order to continue to pay for school and pay my creditors I had to work 60 hours a week and carry a full load of credits, but in the end (I mean the last semester I needed for my degree, my BS) it proved to be too much and I dropped out. At the time it was the right decision, but I would like that piece of paper I spent five years earning.
Workplace
Career arc, can't say I've built any ships. I have unloaded literally millions of dollars of freight for our consumer driven economy. I like to be left alone to do my job, and I like the people on my crews. I hope they like me, and understand that I've always done my best to look out for them.
Military
The beer was warm and the hookers were expensive, just kidding the hookers weren't that expensive. Actually I've never paid for it ... yet. Never even went to the titty bar in basic with the other guys, not because I was morally superior or unwilling mind you; I sprained both my ankles on a road march that day. I spent most of my tour in the U.S. in Washington state three years, did all my training in Georgia six months, and spent six months overseas in the Sinai Desert. I was trained to be an Airborne Ranger INF M60 machine gunner, scout swimmer training, a lean mean killing machine; but I didn't see action. I left the Rangers because they failed to live up to their motto/their image, but I did get re-united with a lot of them when they got themselves kicked out for drugs and/or alcoholism. The last year in the Army I had a really close group of friends more like family than anything I have ever known. I miss them all dearly.
