Eva's Story

Life Hi everybody!!! I currently live in the Buffalo area. Boy oh boy oh boy. . . Where does time go? I'm 62 at the moment, but 63 is just around the corner waiting to jump out and grab me! Oh well, 62. . .are you that too? However, 63 that will be me! I left Canisius College on the 1st of August, 2012. I was supposed to move to Louisiana via my son Chad. Wouldn't you know, at the last minute, I received a telephone call from my son. He said he and his new bride had an unexpected $5,000 closing fee on their new home. That meant they no longer had sufficient funds to move me. Neither did I have that kind of money at hand. However, I am now working in a local pharmacy, where I am being challenged with learning to be a pharmacy technician. It's unbelievable just how much I have to learn. And, oh so much legal responsibility! By the way, I may not be at the college anymore, but I do still see friends from there. And, lucky me, I am on Facebook. Are you? God has once again opened a new door for me. I may not be a multi-millionaire or even close, but I enjoy this job. I am within 2.5 miles from my home. My younger brother and older sister live within minutes from me. And, I can ALWAYS count on my little brother for a helping hand whenever there arises a need. Plus, we get together on an almost weekly basis. I love to work crossword puzzles, and Charlie has learned he's pretty good at them too. We often meet for lunch and work the puzzles at the same time together. It's really fun! I attended an alumni reunion last summer. I saw Debbi Talley, Marilyn Horton and Ronnie Drumm. And saw some people from various years. My husband passed away several years ago; 1981 to b...Expand for more
e exact. My sons, Robert and Chad, are grown with 1 daughter each. One granddaughter lives in New Orleans, and the other lives in Honolulu. And, of course, I don't often get to see any of them. I now have a wonderful new daughter-in-law Carrie! Love her! There seems to be no one around here to "play". Any of you live up this way? I love really Good jazz! I listen to a Canadian station JAZZ 101.1 FM and a local Buffalo NPR station. I love reading--There are times when I will stay up until the morning reading a book. As already mentioned, I have become addicted to crossword puzzles. I have been a "crafty" sort of person off and on over the years. Some of you know I love to draw portraits. I can only do that if the subject really draws my interest. I have once again taken up the knitting needles and crochet hooks. . .the yarns too. My created items don't always turn out perfect, but you can tell that I personally made them and with love. Silly me! I had my e-mail address in here. I didn't realize that is a NO-NO! By the way guys, Buffalo winters are NOT really as bad as the media would lead you to believe. Traffic, however, on the the other hand, can be a REAL pain in the derriere. Do you remember Driver Education and Mr. Irving Randall? He would just die if he saw these nuts on the road! I guess directionals and common sense are no longer necessary once you have your driver's license. How is it where your are? Well. . .I would love to hear from everyone. I don't think I am supposed to leave my address or telephone number on this. SO. . .I'm on Facebook. Look me up. Can I say that? I don't know. I'm sure I will know soon if I can't. See ya! Love ya! Bye!
