Joe's Story
Stephen F. Austin High was a pretty good experience for me. I joined the ROTC then. Learn alot about the rifle (M1). Met a lot of people there during my classes. But Vietnam was coming up.
So I joined the Marine Corps because I always wanted to be a Marine.
After graduating from Stephen F. Austin H.S. I joined. My family and friends thought that was a good experience. As it turns out, they were right. During my many travels to...Expand for more
California, Michigan, Arizona. I got to know a lot of people and made many friends. Some were for life while others for a time only.
Making friends all the time and in Memphis I met Tom Paquin who became my best friend. We went together in all our duty stations. Not until we came back to th states did we have seperate duty stations. Tom got married and I went back home.
We kept in touch with each other but we never met again.
