Joean's Story

Life I moved away from Portsmouth in 1965 with my family. We ended up in the mountains of Roanoke Va. I now live in the small collage town of Blacksburg. Home of Virginia Tech. I have two very handsome sons and one grandson who is my angel. I was very shy in school. I wish I could do it all over and be as I am now. It would be such fun. I worked at the Dari-Ette Drive Inn back in those days. And those were the days. I still keep in touch with my best friend from school her name is Kay Martin. uated from Cradock in 1961. He was killed a few years later. I also keep in touch with Margaret Bridgers. Margaret and Kay keep me young,, at heart anyway. We are miles apart and I guess it is a good thing we are. Everyone I have talked to from back then remembers my smile and my kindness. That is a great way to be remembered. I have been told be several people I should have been a nurse but my heart is with Children. My dream was to own a large house and take in every unwanted and abused child I could find. That is still my dream.
