Joey's Story
I worked for the City of Davis for 26 years in the Public Works Dept. as a Plant Operator then Supervisor of the City's Water Pollution Control Plant.For the last 6 seasons I have been working part time for the Sacramento Rivercats in the Crowd Control and Promotions Departments so as you can see I like Controling things, be it Pollution or Crowds (sometimes I can't tell the difference).Recently I began working in the Rivercats Operations Dept. dealing with the players and their needs which has me traveling around California,Nevada and hopefully in Arizona in the off season.
I enjoy sports (YANKEE,RAIDER,SIXERS fan) so being with the Rivercats is a lot of fun.I also enjoy golf,softball and playing my guitar.
My social life incudes spending time with my girlfriend Diane Knapp class of 1979 and her 17 year old daughter Jennie(who I love as my own).We like going to the movies,bowling and attending Jennie's many social functions like karate demos(she earned her Black Belt 4 years ago),musicals and singing concerts(she is in the Davis High"Advance Treble Choir").I also have 2 chihuahuas "Mickey"and"Babe"(after Mantle and Ruth)and 2 cats "Angel"and...Expand for more
"Princess"(Jennie named the cats). During the school year I have worked events at Davis High handling Security at Football games and Dances. It works out great because the school layout has basically stayed the same so I know all the hiding places.
2011 has been a great year thus far,in March I went to Arizona for a week to experience MLB Spring Training for the first time. It was great and I plan to return for the Arizona Fall League in October/Novemember. I also flew to New York in April and took in my first Yankee game at Yankee Stadium. For those who really know me know that this was a religious experience for me.
Jennie graduated from Davis High in June (me 1971,her 2011 wow am I old). Diane and I are very proud of our beautiful young lady and now the world is her oyster.
This summer Diane,Jennie and I are taking a trip to Vancouver and Victoria to take in the sites and when we return Diane and I are driving down to the Santa Barbara to attend the "Happy Together Tour" featuring The Turtles,The Association,The Grass Roots,The Buckinghams and Paul Revere and the Raiders. How's that for a blast from the past. I'll let you know how it went.
