John ( Jay)'s Story
I often wonder how some my classmates are doing. Since ninety -nine percent of you ended up being teaches you're probably all retired by now. I was one of the few who wasn't in education. Hope you all had rewardig careers.
My life took a completely different turn. I got drafted shortly after graduation and was sent to Germany, where I fell in love with the country and the way of life here, I found myself returning four years later marrying a German girl and have been here my whole life.My most vivid memories of Boston State was Kent State in our senior year and the after effects, and getting roped in to a cottege down the Cape by Pat Tonner "class of 70" ...Expand for more
and six other girls. Pat, if you're out there you girls tortured me. I think I lasted five weeks.I'm still eternally greatful to Bobby Richardson for offering me refuge at his place. I should have known better. It did however enhance my love for the cape so that fifteen years ago we bought a place in Eastham . We go twice a year June and october. My wife is a teacher as well and she's calling it a career next year so we'll be over there more. Maybe I'll run into one of you, that is if we could recognize one another.Forty some odd years does a job on one's appearance. So that's my story to some degree. There's a lot in between but we'll let that go for now.
