John's Story
Originally went to Payson Park Elementary School in Belmont Mass. That school is no longer there. A boy named Evan burned down the school roasting marshmellows in a window well.
Then went to Chenery Middle School in Belmont Mass. for one year and then my parents moved to Arlington. It devastated me! I hated the schools in Arlington compared to Belmont.
Then went to Ottoson Junior High in Arlington for two years. Probably the darkest part of my student life. I'll never forget how meanly and horribly I was treated by certain boys and girls in that school just because I carried a small brief case that my mother bought me. Choosing not to disappoint her I brought that darned thing to school only to be tormented and bullied incessantly for two solid years both mentally and physically. Let's just say I survived and eventually became an intolerant person in my adult life when it comes to bullies now. The bullies I knew oh so well were; Robin Femia, Carol Manita, Richard Patterson, and Peter Macleod, and Paul Preston only to name a few. These people continued their bully antics even on to high school but not as severely.
Went to Arlington High School and graduated with honors in 1978. My biggest crushes in High School were Lynne Ligor, Rhonda Sylvey, Charlene Lopilato, Darlene Mitchell and Susan Mahoney. Of course they didn't know me from Adam but it's nice to mention. Some cool friends of mine t...Expand for more
hen were: Peter Woo, Frank Lugo, Paul Nebling, Christine Betts, Carla Fagan, Sue Bezreh, Sharon Zaslaw, Cheryl Baker, Jim Carpenter, Paul Baratta, Greg Wilson and more. I was probably best known for my 1967 442 Olds. It was a hot lookin' muscle car and never ceased to gain attention from the Arlington police while cruisin' Mass Ave. at night.
Joined the USAF in 1980 and became a crew chief in the 388th Tactical Fighter Wing at Hill Air Force Base Utah. Probably the best times of my life other than finding my wife and starting a family. I was proud to serve my country and serve under Ronald Reagan.
Came back home to Arlington in 1985 and worked for several years in Waltham Mass. as a machinist. In 1992 I decided to quit my job with my wife Robin and two children and move to Utah to get an Engineering degree at Weber State University. I finished it in three years and moved with the family to Texas to start my new job in Aerospace. Eventually I was transferred to Utah and earned my MBA from Utah State University in 2002. I now work for Northrop Grumman in Utah and love what I do.
Met my beautiful wife Robin in Utah during my military career in the United States Air Force from 1980-1985 and married in 1988 in Belmont, MA. Two of my children were born in Boston and the other two born in Utah during my college years at Weber State University.
