John's Story

When I left GSHS in 87 and went to UC Davis to get my BS in physics I thought I really had my plan down. But by my sophomore year I realized I didn't like the material and was floundering in my courses. I reconsidered what my interests were and changed over to civil engineering. I enjoyed the studies and went on to UC Berkeley for my masters in structural engineering. I love the work and have been working in the Sacramento area since 93. I now work in an office in Folsom and have 6 engineers working for me. I married for the first time in 93 and while that didn't last long, I have since found the perfect mate and married her in 2002. My wife brought in three kids from her previous marriage (they are the grea...Expand for more
test kids) and she and I have had two more so we have a very busy and noisy household but it's definitely fun. We've settled in Folsom and are currently planning to build a custom home in El Dorado Hills. I got into motorcycling and have owned several bikes over the years, but currently only have one at the moment, a Yamaha R1 which I ride whenever I can (gotta love CA weather for riding). I also love to camp out and fish and recently got a kayak and go out to Lake Natomas or other smaller fishing lakes with the kids and enjoy the water. I'm also completing a car restoration project. I found a 73 mustang (a different looking but cool body style in my opinion) and am currently doing a full resto-mod job on it.
