John's Story

story so far: Born in Santa Barabara while living in Isla Vista.. few months in Monterey and Pacifica.. moved back to Goleta.. spent the summers in La Honda (including the summer of love).. started school at Foothill in Goleta.. moved to Escondido, went to Oak Hill Elementary, Orange Glen Middle School, Orange Glen High School.. broke my knee big time when I was 11.. broke it again and again through high school.. moved back to Isla Vista when I was 18, went to UCSB, broke my knee for a final time on the 2nd day of school at UC.. was in a wheel chair and crutches until experimental ligament transfer surgery got me walking somewhat normally again.. dropped out of school at age 20 and started writing software for Santa Barbara Research Center, loved that job.. started taking road trips all over the states.. followed the Dead.. had lots of fun.. went back to school when I was 27 at Santa Barbara City College.. started writing sofware and doing analysis for Channel Technologies, Channel Industries, Sonatech, Electro-Optical Industries, and International Transducer.. more road trips, and first trip to Europe.. turned 30 and moved to San Francisco.. worked for Dalmo Victor in Belmont, and then for Physics International in...Expand for more
San Leandro, which was a fantastic exeperience (plasma physics, and all..) moved back to Santa Barbara at 31 in '91, worked for Inamed (McGhan Medical, CUI, BioEnterics, SSF, NuSil, etc.).. worked a little in Ireland in '94.. more road trips (lightning in every one of the first 17 of 19 states visited on one road trip).. in '95, started working for Miravant (used to be PDT).. had my knee reconstructed again in '98.. stayed at Miravant until 2002 when our light-activated drug didn't get FDA approval.. after that took a couple of years off.. did some minor cunsulting, started a business, had a mystery illness, wrote software out of my house in Santa Barbara.. 2008, started to write software for UCSD's Scripps Institute's Marine Physicl Lab in Point Loma, Loved that job, I was writing software to analyze pictures of the sky and determine cloud content, funding got frozen, so I was layed-off.. now I'm floating around doing odd consulting jobs hear and there, not sure where I'll land.. Oh ya, landed a great job at PlanetTogether, Inc. Working all over the world, from my computer.. optimizing manufacturing. Did Guinness hoping for some product samples. oh well, that's about it for now. jcameron1110 at netscape dot net
