For those that do not remember me, I was the skinny Italian kid that hung around Dunn's at lunch time and did as little as possible with regards to academics. But, I did enjoy playing basketball and football for the school. I have gained about 10 kg since then but now lost it again, but still enjoy sports-watching! After leaving Beck I attended the University of Western Ontario-and some of you may be shocked that I actually did this and graduated with an Honours BSc. I was on my way to medical school when I met a faculty member that convinced me that I had the potential to achieve more interesting things in life. So I decided to follow in his footsteps and studied Neuroscience, completing an MSc and PhD at Western. a couple of years as an instructor. I returned to Western in 1981 on faculty. I was a Professor of Physiology, Pharmacology and Graduate Neuroscience in the Schulich School of Medicine and Dentistry until my retirement - now hold title of Professor Emeritus at Western. Having been given the opportunity to travel as an invited lecturer worldwide (except for Antarctica), I can attest that there is no better place than home-Canada. I will end this by indicating that I have been blessed with a great family, my wife that has always supported me and three great children who in their own right are very successful-an orthodontist and two lawyers-note that not one followed in my footsteps - role model??? And to this day I still have fond memories of my many friends from Sir Adam Beck Collegiate.
