John's Story
I added myself to Shiocton so I could find some people from there. It worked.
Epilepsy has changed my life. Disabilty retirement. It took 3 years to get my medication so I can drive. My second ex-wife was good to me through the rough times. She is moving to CA to take care of her mother. I do not ever want to live there again. You can not turn around without someone saying you did it wrong and it is full of bad memories fo me. Texas is now my home. There are freedoms there that are nowhere else.
Since college I worked in accounting, finance, construction, the oil patch and taxes. I can not do any of that any more or any other gainful work. I look as healthy and am the same size as a Clydesdale though. Medication has given me back my life. I am dabbling in politics some now.
Originally when I retired I was going to farm, hunt and fish. When I was not farming, I was going to sit on the porch in TX or AK with my feet up on the rail shooting any legal game that ran by or go fishing. I was going to flip the states once in a while and add CA t...Expand for more
o take my grandson fishing. Now what I have left is: 1) I still keep the name that Dad gave to the farm, Nev-R-esT. Now it is mine and at SBCGlobal dot net:
Since I left I have driven in all the US states but Rhode Island, 1 US Territory, 4 Canadian Provinces, 2 Canadian Territories and 5 European countries. I have worked in the Pacific Islands, Pacific Rim and East Asia. I was in China during Tiananmen. I would like to go back to those areas as a tourist.
The beard is a fond memory now. But with my beard and build some kids think I am Santa Clause. I tell them he is my Grandpa; I am not that big yet. I am in training, they better be good. I have got my eye on them.
Along the line I took time to marry, have a daughter, finish college, move to Hawaii, have twin sons, move to CA, divorce, re-marry, move to TX, have one son die of complications from medication, the other son had brain surgery to cure epilepsy, divorce and have epilepsy suface in me. Thanks to the year book staff at Seymour I was able to replace my yearbooks that were destroyed.
