John's Story

Left FUHS in Jan 1956 sfter 3 1/2 years with enough credits to graduate. Went into Army 6 month plan. Moved to suburb of Dallas and started SMU in September 1956. Graduated 1960 with BS in Math Moved to Fremont CA and went tot Stanford. Graduated 1961 with MS in Math. Worked for one year in Palo Alto Moved to Berkeley CA in 1962 and started at UC. 1963. Graduated UC Berkeley in 1966 with Ph.D in applied Math. Moved to Los Alamos in August 1966 to work in nuclear weapons. Third and last child born 1967. Separated in 1975 and divorced 1977. Married in 1981. Quit bomb building business in 1981 and went into business for myself. In 1991 moved to Espanola, NM to be a minority gringo in an hispanic community.

My son David Hayes and his lady friend Suzanne Lewis ran in the Jemez Mountains Trail Runs on 5/23/15. They both ran in the 50 mile event. Both runners were not happy with their results. There were 106 runners that finished
