John's Story
After high school, I worked in the tool and die industry while studying at Cal Poly Pomona. I earned a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Psychology with a Minor in Management and Human Resources. My first career job was with Security Pacific Corporation (now Bank of America) as a Human Resources generalist and special projects manager.
Then I went to work for McLaren Graduate School of Management at the University of San Francisco where I consulted with private companies, human service organizations, and government agencies in the area of supported employment for individuals with developmental disabilities. I also earned a Law degree.
While studying for the Bar Exam, I operated my own consulting business to help human services organizations in the areas of Strategic Marketing, Program Evaluation, Quality Improvement Systems, Disability and the Law, and Workplace Accommodations for People with Disabilities.

s - one of ten similar programs around the country. This work led me to the Pension Rights Center in Washington DC, where I developed and directed the National Pension Assistance Resource Center initiative - providing training and technical assistance to the entire network of pension-specialist legal services attorneys around the country. I worked to expand the network to 29 states, developed an online pension assistance referral service, and an online resource library for the exclusive use pension assistance network. As deputy director of the Pension Rights Center I supported the policy mission of the Center by testifying before Congress and Administrative Agencies on a variety of legislative and regulatory matters. I have been widely quoted in the national media and have appeared on numerous radio and television programs.
I manage my own law firm - H&H LawWorks, LLC - with my wife, Heidi. Our practice focuses on employee benefits, Social Security and Veterans benefits. We also practice in the areas of Family Law, Estates & Trusts, and Elder Law.
