John's Story
John graduated from the University of California at Berkeley with a major in mathematics, received a PhD in Mathematics from Columbia University in New York City, a DSc degree from London University, and Honorary Doctorate Degrees from Sofia University and Shumen University, both in Bulgaria. ing positions at universities in Austria, Czech Republic, France, Italy, Poland, Russia, Spain, and the United States. He is the founder and president of the IMC (International Mathematics Competition for University Students) that has been held annually in Europe for the past 29 years (see the IMC website and the IMC wikipedia page). His son graduated from the University of Chicago in 2019 and completed an MSc degree in Mathematics at Kings College London in 2022.
