John's Story

Life I'm the valedictorian of computer illiteracy, a techno-luddite. These damn things scare me to death. Good thing I didn't have to use one at work, or I wouldn't have made it to retirement. I was a social worker (don't vomit, I'll do the vomiting about social work) for the State of California from '74 to '96 when Camarillo State Hospital was converted to a state college (!), and again at Metropolitan St. Hosp. for 22 months until 10/01. er surgery at UCLA. Dating over 50 sucks. I live in coastal Ventura County, own a house, am slowly remodeling, and know almost nobody. This area is only now getting LAized: Drivers are rude, people drive fast, the population is growing, ad nauseum. For those who remember me well, several years of psychoanalysis was immensely helpful. In all, life has turned out ok, could have been a lot worse. I'm fairly happy, but would like to have more friends. Odd how we are surrounded by people, but we don't know many others.
