John's Story
Life
Since graduation in 1974, I joined the Navy, got out and stayed in the Navy Reserves. I became a Paramedic for United Ambulance for about 8 years while I attended college at UMF then USM, majoring in Liberal Arts (Biology) and Nursing respectively. While at United Ambulance Service formerly Allied Ambulance service I worked with Keith Dutton- we became great friends. During that time I also managed to get married and start a family.
I came back on Active Duty in the Navy in 1986 as a Navy Nurse. Since my return to the military I have had several trips to the Middle East and Europe. lization Platform. I also received a full scholarship to the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, Virginia where I received my Masters degree in Nursing and a Certificate as a Family Nurse Practitioner.
I reside in Suffolk Virginia, with my wife of 26 years and 3 children. I am currently stationed as a Family Nurse Practitioner at the Naval Hospital at Cherry Point North Carolina.
Wish that I could have attended the recent High School Class Reunion Summer of 2008, but had other commitments preparing to go to Afghanistan for a year. Looking forward to the next one.
